Easter Roadtrip - Camping Las Vegas

We have always tried to do something special at Easter and this year I had a few days owing to me so we decided to go camping in Vegas....... and it was amazing !

As per usual, as soon as work was done we were hitched up and gone.  We only live about 30 minutes drive from the US border at Sweetgrass so pretty soon we were heading south into Montana.  The idea was to just get as far south as possible then "Overnight" somewhere.  Well that's what we did, we found a nice little rest area just before the Idaho border and pulled in for the night.

Next morning started with a full fried breakfast and hot coffee, remember I said that Zingy was fully self contained.  We took most of the next day to get down to Las Vegas and pulled into the campsite at about eight in the evening.

The next day was spent on the "Las Vegas Strip" just exploring and taking in all the sights.  We must have walked for miles and that evening we got back to the trailer absolutely exhausted.  That evening we must have spent only about an hour in the local Casino before we were absolutely beat and it was time for bed.

The next day was more of the same, seeing all the sights in the hotels and casinos..... followed by the highlight of the trip......The Lion King Show.  If you ever get the chance to see the Lion King being performed live then just go and see it, don't even question it, just go and see it.  I wish I could find words to describe it, it was just Awesome!..... and of course a beautiful meal in one of the excellent restaurants in the Mandalay Bay to finish off the evening.

The next day was just as exciting..... we spent more time just looking around in awe.... we absolutely fell in love with Las Vegas.  By mid afternoon it was time for something different so we jumped in the truck and headed off to Whiskey Pete's and the Retail Outlet down there.  After an afternoon of retail therapy we were completely refreshed so that was our cue for an evening in the Casino again.

On our last morning we just had a lie in and started packing for the long journey home, of course via Mesquite and the great Casinos there.

The journey back was pretty uneventful as it is practically just one road all the way back to Alberta.  This was our best camping holiday yet, All the fun of Vegas but at the end of the evening it was nice to get back to the privacy and comfort of our own little cottage on wheels.
