Well you can probably see from the title that our new (or should I say renewed) hobby is camping. We decided to get back into camping round about this time last year..... in fact it was exactly this weekend last year.
It all started with a planned visit down to Mount Rushmore, you know the place where the Presendents' faces are carved into the side of the mountain. Well we actually planned this trip on the Thursday night, basically the day before we planned to go. We decided to drive down to Billings, spend the night in a motel and head on to Rushmore the following day. We would visit Custer's Last Stand and spend the evening in Keystone which is a little touristy town ant the foot of Mount Rushmore. We would then head East over to 1880's town, spend the day there, spend the night in another local motel, then head back to Canada, arriving home Monday evening.
Well Friday night went as planned, we stayed in a great little hotel in Billings............. actually, i will finish this story in the next post as I intend to write a few posts over the next few days to bring you up to date on where we have been in our trailer (that's North American for caravan)
Anyway we couldn't find a hotel and nearly ended up sleeping in the pickup, so we decided that from now on, whilst on road trips, we would be dragging our home around with us so we always had somewhere to sleep. Little did we know that this thing was going to take over practically all of our recreation time.... and I am so glad it did.
The following few weeks were spent looking for the ideal trailer, we must have looked at hundreds of different models and hundreds of different floor plans until we decided on the Zinger.
So now starts Lyndon's Camping Life..........
