WOW i never realised it was so cold, we thought it would be nice to bring in the New Year in the Hot Tub so we got everything ready early, chilled the 'Bubbly', set the towels to warm thru, stoked up the wood burning stove with so much wood that i could bearly shut the oven door. It was actually so hot in our basement that Gizmo wouldnt go down their without an asbestos suit, the stove was glowing so hot the whole thing had a red tinge to it.
So the scene is set, and the cans of beer and bottles of fizzy grape juice are stategically placed around the tub.
So two crazy English people go hop skipping and jumping barefoot through the snow followed by 2 splashes and me moaning about the water being too hot..... i dont do really hot water... i like my Hot Tub to be a Cool Tub, even when it is minus 30 outside.
Okay, were in the water, Jan grabs the glasses and i grab the first bottle of Cava. Pop goes the cork (over the garage and into next doors' garden) and then nothing ?????????
Then the slow eruption of a Cava 'SLUSHIE" volcano out of the bottle...............
Well that was great fun trying to eat Champagne flavoured slush..... i think we may have found a niche market. So.... armed with hind sight, the second bottle can float around in the water for awhile to thaw out.
Now...... i also poured a beer chaser while all this frivolity was going on, and guess what... that all froze up too.
